Kevin Yun, D.V.M.
Dr. Kevin Yun graduated from Konkuk University, South Korea in 2013. After serving ROKA (Republic of Korea Army) for 2 years, he moved to Baton Rouge LA in participation of a 1-year Clinical Program at Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. Upon successful completion of the program he obtained the PAVE (The Program for the Assessment of Veterinary Education Equivalence) certification. He started his career as a small animal GP in 2016. Having lived in multiple different states on the east coast his family made a big decision to move to the evergreen state to get closer with family relatives. Dr. Yun purchased the clinic in 2022 and became a new owner of Mill Creek Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Yun is a well-rounded general practitioner with particular interests in ophthalmology, dentistry, and soft tissue surgery. When not working, he likes spending time with his wife Anna, 2 daughters, Evelyn and Eleanor, and his dog Lucy.
Michael A. Betts, D.V.M.
Dr. Michael Betts graduated from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University in 1974. After graduation, he moved to Longview, Washington, and gained valuable experience working at two small animal practices in the area until 1976.
From there he moved to Seattle and was employed at three different practices as well as working in Alaska for a short time. In March 1982, Dr. Betts hung out his shingle and established Mill Creek Veterinary Hospital. As the owner, Mike has been a full-time small animal practitioner since then.
Dr. Betts enjoys all aspects of practice especially surgery and internal medicine. His other interests include boating, salmon fishing, camping, reading, and racquetball. He has 2 children, Kristy, a graduate of WSU with a B.S. in Psychology, and Tom who is currently enrolled in the College of Veterinary Medicine at WSU. Dr. Betts lives with his wife and daughter in Everett along with two cats (Kira and Manny) and the dogs (Tina, Chupe, and Paco).
Dr. Kathy Johnson
Dr. Kathy Johnson received her DVM from the Ohio State University in 1983. She completed her first year of veterinary college at WSU and has a BS from The Evergreen State College. She came “home” from Ohio in 1985, and part-time she does small animal relief work. She began working at Mill Creek Veterinary Hospital on a regular basis in 2002. Dr. Johnson enjoys the variety and challenge of a general practice.
Kristen graduated from Washington State University in 2008 with a degree in psychology. Although she is pursuing a career in the mental health field, she has always had a love for animals and has worked as a veterinary assistant for several years. Kristen currently lives with her family in Everett and enjoys spending time with the families’ three dogs and two young cats.
Bonnie, one of our veterinary nurses, has always been passionate about caring for animals. Before working here, she volunteered at a cat rescue and also worked at a dog care facility. She loves spending time with her three children and their three dogs, two hamsters, and turtle. In her spare time, she enjoys thrift shopping and attending concerts.
What Our Clients Are Saying
I have been seeing Dr. Johnson about 5 years now for our cats and dogs. The Doctor and staff care about our pets and their health while still being affordable and cost effective. I highly recommend Mill Creek Veterinary Hospital.
I cannot say enough about this place, it doesn't smell, we have never been taken advantage of. Dr. Betts has been fantastic with all of our dogs, he tells us when a treatment isn't necessary, and doesn't overcharge. I wish they offered some holistic treatments, but I could not be more pleased. The staff has always been great to work with. We have sent other people to him and they loved him also. Keep up the great work!
Dr. Betts and the staff at Mill Creek Veterinary Hospital are great. Our family has been using this clinic for over 35 years for a multitude of dogs we have had. They are competent, professional, caring and are just nice folks in general. I highly recommend.
I came to Dr Betts many years ago after taking my cat to an emergency vet who recommended surgery. I asked Dr Betts for a second opinion. He saved me putting her through the pain and rehab of an unnecessary surgery, as well as thousands of dollars. They have lovingly handled end-of-life care for 3 of my animals. The staff is friendly and kind, and have dealt with my chronically anxious rescue dog with loving patience over the past 12 years. I could not recommend them more highly.
We have used Dr. Betts for all our pets for over 30 years. This office does a fantastic job. I no longer live in Mill Creek and I drive by several veterinarians on my way to get to Dr Betts.
